設計提供有各種類型的總線連接器，可優化用于連接的設備： - 總線連接器具有軸向電纜引出線（180°），可用于如 PC 和 SIMATIC HMI OP，傳輸速率高達 12 Mbps，帶集成的總線端接電阻
- 帶垂直電纜引出線的總線連接器（90°）；
這種接頭采用垂直電纜引出線（有或沒有編程器接口），數據傳輸速率高達 12 Mbps，帶集成的終端電阻。傳輸速率為 3、6 或 12 Mbps 時，在帶編程器接口的總線接頭和編程器之間，需要使用 SIMATIC S5/S7 連接電纜。 - 有 30°電纜引出線的總線接頭（經濟型），無編程器接口，數據傳輸速率zui大為 1.5 Mbps，無集成的總線端接電阻。
- PROFIBUS 快速連接 RS 485 總線接頭（90°或 180°電纜引出線），傳輸速率zui大為 12 Mbps，采用絕緣刺破技術可實現快速簡單安裝（用于硬線和軟線）。
功能總線連接器可直接插入到 PROFIBUS 站或 PROFIBUS 網絡組件的 PROFIBUS 接口（9 針 Sub-D 接口）中。 可使用 4 個端子在插頭中連接進入和離開的 PROFIBUS 電纜。 通過從外部清晰可見的便于接觸的開關，可以連接總線連接器中集成的總線端接器（不適用于 6ES7 972-0BA30-0XA0）。在此過程中，連接器中的進線和出線總線電纜是分開的（隔離功能）。 必須在 PROFIBUS 網段的兩端進行這種連接。
